Light Straw Clay Primer (2 days)
October 6 - 7, 2025 (Mon - Tues)
From 4 weeks to 4 days. The straw clay walls for our 1200 sf home took 4 weeks to complete in 1990. The same project now takes us 4 days.
Come and learn from the company that introduced and revolutionized Light Straw Clay over three decades and wrote the textbook on how to design and build a LSC House. It’s fun!
You will learn the Five Divisions of LSC and more…
1. Production: slip formulation, mixing straw and clay
2. Delivery: safe/efficient handling, equipment, scaffold
3. Framing: the structural matrix framework
4. Forming: slip & full forms, attachment.
5. Filling: loading & tamping for strong/stable walls
6. Finishing: breathing plaster/wood finishes
7. Building Codes: understanding requirements and permitting.
8. Materials: estimating and sourcing
